Since 2011, the Beer Barons of Milwaukee have been hosting one of the biggest independent competitions in the country. The focus is to provide good feedback to all entrants and reward talented beer, mead, and cider making. All entries to be judged by at least 2 BJCP Judges. All mead entries to be judged by at least 2 BJCP Mead Endorsed Judges and all cider entries to be judged by at least 2 BJCP Cider Endorsed Judges.
We love this competition and have a blast putting it on every year. Old friends come in from around the country to help us organize and judge, and the entries themselves – while already great – seem to improve year over year.
The hardware is pretty killer too. Each ramp up selection and the beer, cider, and mead Best of Show selection will be awarded a barrelhead. There will also be medals given to all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each flight.
