General Info

Judging will be on Friday, February 17th and Saturday, February 18th. Additional sessions may be added on Tuesday February 14th and Wednesday February 15th if necessary. There will be 3 sessions on Friday and 3 sessions plus the BOS on Saturday. See the homepage for the schedule. All volunteers will be limited to 3 sessions per day.

 

Location

The private judging will be at Revere''s Wells Street Tavern on Friday and Saturday.  Tuesday and Wednesday are TBD.  Revere's is an excellent facility and once again we will be taking over the entire lower level.  We encourage everyone to take a look at the pictures on the location''s web site. Meals

Lunch on Friday will be provided for the volunteers from the Friday morning session. Friday dinner will be provided at a discount for all volunteers that work three sessions (see Mead and Beer Paired Dinner section). And lunch on Saturday will be provided for the Saturday morning volunteers. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE SCHEDULED TO WORK THE PRECEDING SHIFT AND HAVE SIGNED UP FOR THE MEAL (for the lunches).  Information regarding meal sign up will be forthcoming.

 • Friday Beer and Mead / Cider Paired Dinner (6:00 pm)

This year's paired dinner will feature both a beer and a mead or cider sample with each course!  Taste the creations from Revere's, Moonlight Meadery, and some select breweries with fellow homebrewers and enthusiasts.  Discuss how each pairing complements each other and debate if the beer or the mead / cider wins out. Two beers are still being finalized. Check back for updates.

The Menu:

Appetizer: Family-style cheese, fruit & crackers plate with brie, young gouda, and a Chimay cheese.
Paired with Moonlight Wild (Bluberry) & Chimay White

Salad: Arugula with walnuts, goat cheese and creamy balsamic dressing
Paired with Moonlight Fling (Rhubarb, and Strawberries) & Lakefront SMaSH Ale

Main Course: Grilled Wild Boar Medallion served with baby red potatoes.
*Non-meat options: Stuffed Portabella with baby red potatoes - must be specified/ordered ahead of time
Paired with Moonlight Embrace (Black Currant) & Tyranena Headless Man Amber Alt

*Moonlight Common Disaster is the 2016 Mead Maker's Choice Award Winning mead.

Seating will be limited.  This event will be open to the public.  Tickets are $45.00 each and the first 40 volunteers that sign up will receive a $20 credit after working their three session. Only volunteers will receive the credit, not guests of the volunteer. 

Moonlight Meadery                 Reveres Wells Street Tavern

A homebrewer since 1995, Michael Fairbrother is the founder and mead maker of Moonlight Meadery. Started in his garage in 2010, Moonlight Meadery now has capacity to produce over 200,000 bottles per year. This small business continues to grow from its humble beginnings and expand its national footprint. Last year alone, Moonlight’s sales grew an astounding 760 percent. Beer Festivals

The 20th Annual Midwinter Brew Fest is Sunday, February 19th from 1 to 5 p.m. We have a limited number of tickets (non-transferable) for sale to the volunteers as the tickets are not available online or by phone and the festival sells out fast every year (only available until festival is sold out). Please contact us to reserve tickets. Food & Froth beer festival is Saturday night at the Milwaukee Museum for those interested.
